Although my present call at Living Hope and Christ the King Lutheran Churches doesn’t have a regular monthly print newsletter in the same way my previous congregation did, I have started a somewhat-quarterly print newsletter shared between the two congregations, for which I write a brief column.
Here’s my column from our Fall 2022 Stronger Together joint print newsletter. Read the whole newsletter as a PDF here.
A NEW SEASON TOGETHER
Thank you so much for the warm welcome you’ve shown to Christin, Micah, and I as we’ve begun to get settled in this community of faith! I’ve genuinely enjoyed getting to know the people of Living Hope and Christ the King, and if we haven’t had a chance to talk yet, I hope we will soon. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—give me a call, send an email, or stop by during my office hours. Thank you for calling me to serve as your pastor. Please continue to pray for me and for our life as God’s people together in Port Washington and Saukville.
This is an exciting time in the life of our congregations. We truly are entering a new season together this fall. As you’ll see in this mailing, there are quite a few things happening, including new Sunday School, Confirmation, and adult education opportunities; service projects; and fellowship opportunities.
Most visibly, for the first time since the pandemic began over 2.5 years ago, we will be beginning regular weekly worship services, gathering every Sunday at each church building for (and of course, we’ll continue livestreaming each week as well)! If it’s been a while since you’ve made it to worship, know that we’ve missed you and this is the perfect time to reconnect. And if you know anyone seeking for a church home, please reach out and let them know there’s a place for them in our churches.
Living as two congregations while sharing a pastor brings some unique challenges, so thank you for your patience with me as I learn to navigate this call. But there are also great opportunities as we cooperate to serve Jesus and love our neighbors. We don’t need to agree on everything or worship in exactly the same ways, but I believe we are stronger together as the Holy Spirit guides us into the future and calls us to boldly share God’s love and grace with a world in desperate need of the hope found in Jesus Christ.
In Christ,
Pastor Daniel
