Here are the graphics I made for our worship slides this week. The message is titled “Encourage One Another” based off of 1 Thessalonians 4:18, “Therefore, encourage one another with these words.” Conveniently, the translation is the same in the NRSV, NIV, and ESV translations.
My internship congregation recently put in four mounted flatscreen tv’s to replace the ugly projector screen that had been used for the contemporary service. Now that we have the screens, we’re looking for ways to incorporate them into the two traditional services as well.
To that end, I’ve been creating PowerPoint slideshows for some of the traditional ELW services. (We use MediaShout for the contemporary services, and a different team of volunteers puts that service’s visuals together).
These visuals are in the same style as you’d find on SundaysAndSeasons.com, but on weeks when our service is on a different theme, we’re making our own visuals. Also, these are widescreen slides for PowerPoint, rather than fullscreen. (16×9 instead of 4×3). All graphics are 964 x 540 px, jpg format. As in Sundays and Seasons, there’s a message slide, a slide with the theme verse off to the left side, and a slide with just the background for songs and liturgy.
