This is my introductory newsletter column before beginning my call as pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene, Iowa.
Greetings in the name of the one who calls and gathers us, Jesus Christ.
As I write this, I’m in the midst of packing up our apartment in Dubuque and getting ready to move to Greene. My wife Christin and I have lived here for four years while I’ve been a student at Wartburg Seminary. While I’ve enjoyed being in school, I’m excited to be starting as your pastor in a few short weeks from now.
I’ve toured the church building, read paperwork, and of course interviewed with the call committee, and I’ve gotten something of an idea of what St. Peter Lutheran Church is like. But most importantly, a church congregation is made up of people called together by the Holy Spirit to live their faith together, so I’m most looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you as the people of God at St. Peter.
As Christin and I move to Greene and start this next chapter in our lives, I ask for your prayers for us in our transition and in our ministry. Know that I’m praying for you and that I’m excited to partner with you in the work God is doing at St. Peter as we live out our mission to be a church that welcomes, equips, and serves together in Jesus’ name.
Blessings,
Daniel Flucke
